Paper Prints Policy

1. Introduction

Health and Medical Discoveries (HMD) is primarily an open-access, digital journal. However, we recognize that some authors, readers, and institutions may prefer physical copies of individual articles for personal, academic, or archival purposes. This Paper Prints Policy outlines the process for ordering printed copies of articles published in the journal, including conditions, pricing, and other relevant details.

2. Availability of Paper Prints

  • Printed Copies of Articles: Paper prints of individual articles published in HMD are available for purchase. Printed copies are only offered for articles published after the implementation of this policy.
  • No Full Journal Issues: Printed copies are available for individual articles only. The journal does not provide printed copies of full issues or volumes.

3. Ordering Process

To order printed copies of an article, the following steps must be followed:

  1. Submit an Order Request: Authors, readers, or institutions must submit an order request to the editorial office at [insert contact email] or through the journal’s website (if available). The request should include:

    • The title of the article
    • The volume and issue number
    • The number of copies requested
    • The shipping address (including country)
    • Contact information (email and phone number)
  2. Processing Time: Once the order request is received, the journal will process it and prepare the paper prints. The typical processing time is 10–15 business days after payment is confirmed.

  3. Payment: Orders must be accompanied by full payment for both the printing and shipping costs. Payment details will be provided upon receipt of the order request. Payments should be made before the order is processed.

4. Pricing and Payment

  • Pricing Structure: The cost of printed copies will include:
    • Printing Fee: A fee per article to cover the cost of printing, binding, and production.
    • Shipping Fee: A fee based on the number of copies ordered and the destination of the shipment. International shipping may incur higher fees.
  • Payment Methods: The following payment methods are accepted:
    • Credit/Debit Cards
    • Bank Transfers
    • PayPal
Full payment instructions will be provided once the order request is confirmed.

5. Shipping and Delivery

  • Domestic Orders: For orders within the same country as the journal's location, standard postal or courier services will be used for delivery.

  • International Orders: For international orders, the journal will use international courier or postal services. Delivery times and costs will depend on the destination and number of copies ordered.

Estimated delivery times are as follows:

    • Domestic: 5–7 business days
    • International: 10–30 business days (depending on the destination country)

The journal is not responsible for customs duties, taxes, or other fees that may be imposed by customs authorities in the recipient's country.

6. Returns and Refunds

  • Damaged or Defective Copies: If the printed copies arrive damaged or defective, the recipient must notify the editorial office within 7 days of receiving the order. A full refund or replacement will be issued for damaged or defective prints.

  • Incorrect Orders: If the incorrect article or quantity is sent, the journal will replace the items at no additional cost.

  • No Refunds for Change of Mind: Once an order is processed and shipped, no refunds will be issued for any reason other than damage, defects, or incorrect orders.

7. Copyright and Usage

Printed copies of articles are provided for personal, academic, and institutional use only. Authors and readers are not permitted to sell, redistribute, or use the printed copies for commercial purposes without obtaining permission from the journal.

  • Copyright: Authors retain copyright of their work. Paper prints are distributed as part of the journal’s open-access policy and are intended for non-commercial, academic purposes.

8. Exceptions

In exceptional circumstances, such as production delays or unforeseen logistical challenges, the journal may not be able to fulfill an order. In these cases, the editorial office will notify the recipient and offer an alternative solution, such as an estimated delivery delay or a refund.

9. Policy Review

This Paper Prints Policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure it continues to meet the needs of authors, readers, and institutions while aligning with best practices in academic publishing. Any updates or changes to the policy will be communicated to stakeholders in a timely manner.
